Associate Gustavo A. ("Gus") Martinez practices in the areas of personal injury, maritime law, and general civil litigation. Gus has been practicing law in Puerto Rico since 1992 and in Florida since 2003. Gus also joined the U.S. Army in 1986 where he served as a reservist and in active duty, and was honorably discharged as a First Lieutenant (Ordnance) in September 1998. Prior to joining Nicklaus & Associates, P.A., Gus practiced law in Jacksonville, FL mostly in the areas of maritime law, general civil litigation, and medical malpractice. He has also lectured in areas related to maritime law.

Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Mr. Martinez earned his Juris Doctorate in 1991 from Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico School of Law, where he graduated in the top 20% of his class, and his Master of Laws degree in Admiralty in 1993 from Tulane Law School. He also completed a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Puerto Rico in 1988.

Mr. Martinez is a member of the Florida Bar and the Puerto Rico Bar, and his licensed to practice law in all their state and federal courts.
